About Me

I am a psychodynamically trained psychologist with broad life experience who will approach your treatment with a mixture of theoretically based therapy and common sense. My background in the health care field - nursing degree from Georgetown University and clinical work at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center- contributes to my understanding of mental health difficulties as a combination of biological, social, and psychological factors. I will approach your treatment in a pragmatic yet sophisticated manner with an emphasis on what works best for you.

I have worked with adults, children, and adolescents with a wide variety of difficulties and diagnoses. My clinical experience includes treatment of individuals with anxiety disorders, including social anxiety/phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD resulting from war, sexual abuse and childhood trauma. I can guide you through medical, psychological, and academic issues, including cancers, chronic illnesses, eating disorders, depression, personality disorders, and learning disabilities.

I have found my life experience and rich professional background to be extremely useful in my work with a wide variety of patients. Please don't hesitate to give me a call.
